THE PROJECT
WHO WE ARE
Establish is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit created specifically to foster healing, restoration, and prevention of future abuse and trauma to vulnerable populations.

We are guided by a team of dedicated subject matter experts with extensive experience, particularly in the realm of human trafficking, and a heartfelt commitment to supporting survivors.
Together, we work towards empowering individuals and communities to create safer, brighter futures.

WHAT WE DO
Establish provides mentorship, hope, and empowerment to vulnerable survivors of violent crimes, including human trafficking, allowing them to build sustainable futures.

We provide vital transitional services directly to survivors while also offering training and consultation for professionals and volunteers.
Our programs are rooted in evidence-based strategies delivered by experienced trainers, ensuring that our approach is both effective and supportive.

Our focus is stabilization and integration of survivors for the long term.
THE PROBLEM
There are a lack of services available to transitional-stage survivors beginning their career or entrepreneurial journey. The majority of grants and programs focus on crisis response to trauma and trafficking, leaving survivors “surviving but not thriving”. This failure to thrive results in devastating poverty and little support or guidance in creating an independent sustainable life.
While early intervention and crisis response are critical for victims of human trafficking, transitional services are specifically imperative for victims to truly recover and gain their independence.
THE ESTABLISH SOLUTION
Establish is different because we focus on stabilization via results versus perception.
Establish measures itself via the engagement level of each survivor, defined as prospects for long-term social and economic self-sufficiency.
EMPIRICAL ANALYSIS OF SURVIVOR STABILIZATION shows the success is based on two factors that the length of services (data shows that survivors benefit from more months of service) & Agency characteristics. Again, data shows that onsite capacity to provide mental health services and emergency housing is expected to increase stabilization. However, an agency’s capacity to support job-seeking and self-reliance will promote stabilization.

This is where Establish Hawai'i comes in, we focus on proven EMPIRICAL ANALYSIS OF SURVIVOR STABILIZATION strategies that provide long-term transitional services in an environment focused on support geared towards self-reliance.
FREEDOM, EMPOWERMENT & COMMUNITY.
THE HARD TRUTH
18,614 SEX BUYERS
5.8 ATTEMPTS TO EXIT
Hawai'i Sex trafficking statistics and studies show the real need for effective STABILIZATION AND INTERVENTION strategies. “The stories made clear that many of the assumptions underlying our current response are incorrect. Expecting sex trafficking victims to prove victimhood is unrealistic,” said Jabola-Carolus. “We need a panoply of resources that serve all people in the sex trade, including adults, regardless of victim status.”
